As corrosive as poison came Satan’s insinuation (it was certainly him): “You that so desire Heaven to encounter your father, too, once more, know that you will never find him there - either your father or your mother. You will suffer even there.”
To attenuate the agony of this thought, I replied, “I will not suffer. I will love God. One cannot suffer from grief over someone or for any reason when one enjoys God.” 257
